Title: The Wreck of the Zanzibar

Author: Michael Morpurgo

Publisher: Egmont Press

About the Author: Michael Morpurgo is one of the best authors for children books, which he wrote over 40 of. I have read 7 of them, all wonderfully written with plenty of imagination. They are all touching stories, some of them sad, even making you cry, but when you start reading you can't put them down until you've finished.

Storyline:

Life is hard and boring on Bryher, where Laura Perryman lives with her family from some farming and mainly rescuing ships. She dreams of rowing their gig like the men in her family.

One day a sailor called Joseph Hannibal takes her twin brother Billy with him, who's bored of arguing with his father and being a farm boy instead of exploring the world.

Then a storm breaks over Bryher destroying everything from crops and cows to houses and gigs. There is no food left and everybody wants to leave the island apart from Granny May.

Everything changes when Laura finds a turtle washed up by the storm and helps it back in the water despite all the food problems.

Read more ... and find out if Bryher turns into a Ghost Island or it comes back to life. Will Billy come back? Will the turtle help the people on Bryher as Granny May strongly believed?

I certainly loved the book . Will give a 10/10!
